The Revit development team is constantly working to improve features and security in the software. Often the minor updates are released in Service Packs, while more major updates and new features are released in Updates. The latest Revit 2020.1 Update was recently released.
The Path of Travel feature itself has been improved tremendously. It is now possible to view, tag, and schedule the rooms associated with the start and end points of the travel path. It is also possible to indicate which objects will or will not be considered obstacles. Certain Dynamo nodes for the Route Analysis Path of Travel are currently available for download. (Dynamo Revit 2.2. has been included in this update.) The Dynamo nodes speed up the process of analysis by creating multiple paths automatically. The Path of Travel tool is located on the Route Analysis panel of the Analysis tab.
Schedules have a new graphical feature that allows the user to set contrasting colors across rows for ease of visibility. The new Stripe Rows tool is located on the Modify Schedule/Quantities Contextual Tab, Appearance panel.
This update is heavy with MEP and Structural improvements. The 3D Energy Model view that was created when an Energy Analytical Model was generated has been replaced with a 3D view called Analytical Spaces. This view shows only the analytical spaces and underlays the model elements. Also with analysis, energy analysis can be run locally, rather than uploading to BIM360. HVAC systems can also be added as analytical objects assigned to spaces in the energy model.
Reinforcement continues to improve with performance features such as faster adjustments to rebar constraints, as well as the ability to constrain and preserve rebar layouts when editing.
Finally, support for importing Sketchup 2019 files is available with this update. These are just a few of the improvements and features included in the 2020.1 Update.
