Autodesk Inventor for Intermediate Users

Do you already know the basics of Inventor, as well as solid modeling concepts, and feel like you’re ready to take the next step to enhance your career and make yourself more valuable to the company? Maybe you’re a manager who is looking to enhance production quality and reduce the time needed to complete a design. Whatever the case, ZenTek Consultants is here to help you understand advanced geometric tools and assemblies. This courses will focus on helping you fully understand the fundamental concepts required to develop highly detailed products and designs.

This eight (8) hour course is delivered in four (4), two-hour long sessions that students can attend online, right from their own desk. A live instructor will explain the detailed functions, and address questions as the class progresses.

Autodesk Inventor – Working with Assemblies

There’s a lot more to assemblies than components and constraints. Learn how to utilize assemblies more effectively by understanding structure and relationships, as well as advanced positional representations.

This one-hour live online course covers assembly concepts including:

• Associative Links and Adaptive Parts
• Derived Components
• Creating iMates

Note: Class will be presented using Autodesk Inventor 2020 and that version is required for all students.

Autodesk Inventor - Analysis Tools

When your design has specific criteria to meet, it is critical to visualize forms and features of your model to pick up any mistakes. The Inventor Analysis Tools allow you to do just that, by providing visual representations for various geometric factors such as continuity, smoothness, and curvature.

This one-hour live online course covers:

• Checking derived models for disjointed edges and continuity with the Zebra Tool
• Preparing a molded component with the Draft Tool
• Detecting imperfections in a feature with the Surface Tool
• Analyzing an internal mechanism with the Section Tool

Note: Class will be presented using Autodesk Inventor 2020 and that version is required for all students.

Autodesk Inventor - Geometry Creation

Looking to hone your skills with techniques for creating geometry? Learn how sketching in 3D can give you more flexibility when modeling your design. For even more geometric capability, Inventor incorporates advanced controls for placing work features.

This one-hour live online course focuses on tools for geometry creation including:

• 3D Sketches
• User Coordinate Systems
• Work Planes, Points, and Axes

Note: Class will be presented using Autodesk Inventor 2020 and that version is required for all students.

Autodesk Inventor – Sweeps and Lofts

The sweep and loft features are very powerful tools that are capable of generating a wide range of geometric features but can be challenging to implement. Getting that perfect shape requires a well-sketched profile and knowledge of the tool’s inner workings. Use guide rails to correctly route your lofted geometry, or perform a sweep using a surface.

Join ZenTek Consultants for this one-hour live online course to learn all about the sweep and loft commands and some methods of implementing them, such as:

• Sweeping using a 3D sketch as a path
• Lofting and sweeping with guide rails
• Using surfaces as guides
• Performing an Area Loft

Note: Class will be presented using Autodesk Inventor 2020 and that version is required for all students.

Autodesk Inventor – Surface Modeling

Nearly every object we encounter in the real world has curves, but that’s always a struggle to duplicate in the digital domain. With solid modeling, it can be incredibly difficult to generate a complex curved surface. With the help of Inventor’s surface modeling tools though, this task is a lot less challenging. Virtually any solid object in Inventor can be drawn using surfaces. With a few simple Inventor tools, complex curvature can be generated with ease.

In this one-hour live online course, we will discuss in depth the tools and methods for modeling with surfaces including:

• Creating basic surfaces with traditional solid modeling tools
• Forming closed shapes with patch surfaces
• Combining surfaces with the stitch surface
• Converting surface models into solids

Note: Class will be presented using Autodesk Inventor 2020 and that version is required for all students.
